Exersice+Slices=Stay healthy!!

Tuesday
30.06.2015

Today we had a chill day. We slept in in the morning before dressing up for Power Station.
At the gym we did some core exercise and Freya joined in for some exercises.

After exercising we went to the supermarket to buy some ingredients to the afternoon baking.

Then we went home and ate lunch (Scrambled eggs on a toasted sandwich). When we had eaten lunch, Sam went to work and we started to bake "Caramel Slice" and "Choc Mint Slice".
Magnus needed a haircut and there were some things that we needed to buy. So when the base for the slices were done, we walked down to Hampton Street. We had some fun taking pictures while we waited for Magnus.
Back home again we continued the baking.
Dinner tonight was "Leif Mannerströms Spaghetti Bolognese" (with some ingredients left out).
Even Freya tasted the "Köttfärssås" even though she never eats sous.

Right now the slices are cooling in the fridge and we are really looking forward to taste them :-P.

Run/Bike ride and Minions!

Monday
29.06.2015

Today we slept until 10 o'clock and had some sourdough bread, that we bought on the market yesterday, for breakfast. Then we went out for a run/bike ride to Blackrock.
While Magnus, Freya and Elin enjoyed riding to the playground..
..Matilda and Sam enjoyed their run.
Half way, we gathered and walked down to the beach promenade.
Selfie of the day!
The sandstone were cool and ARTastic!

After a quick touch of the water we went back the same way home and hurried to make lunch, because we were going to the cinema.
We loved the lunch that we had yesterday, so Magnus showed us how to poach eggs quickly in the microwave and we made a similar lunch to the one from yesterday. It was almost as good as the one from the restaurant, only thing that we missed out were the Hollandaise.
Then we went to the cinema in Brighton to watch...
...MINIONS!!!
It was a very funny movie and good to watch without subtitles. We understood all they said (okay, maybe not the "Minion language" but anyway :-P ).
After the movie we walked Church Street down to Middle Brighton Station. We stopped at a toy shop, some book shops and "Country Road".
For dinner today we made Swedish pancakes!!! All of us liked them.

South Melbourne Market

Sunday
28.06.2015

Today we had a sleep in vile Sam took Magnus to his weekly soccer match. When they came back we drove to South Melbourne Market.
Just arrived.
There we bought some fish...
Magnus and Freya bought one "Dim-Sim" each to have while we walked around on the market.
We also bought meat (eggs, vegetables, sunglasses for Magnus and donuts to eat after lunch).
They had all kind of things on the market.
Then we went for lunch. Both of us chose "Eggs Benedict" (poached eggs with ham on English muffins covered with Hollandaise). They very absolutely delicious!
When we came home Sam went to work and we walked to the school playground.
Magnus far to high over the ground.
Freya is surfing on the slide.

Then we "walked" back home again.

For dinner today we made "Flygande Jakob", both of us liked it, but Magnus and Freya did not. We are now waiting to see what Sam thinks about it.

School holiday and to Kate's house

Friday
26.06.2015

Yesterday we woke up early to take the kids to their last day in school before winter holiday. Then we went for a run to Brighton and took a look at the Church Street, the main street, there. After that we caught the train back to Hampton and went to the supermarket and bought some bread, eggs and paper towels. When we came home we ate lunch and waited for a man who was going to come and measure the exploded shower door. Unfortunately he did not come when he said he would, but we entertained ourselves by practising some hairstyles. When the man finally came, we had been waiting for him for one and a half hour.

School finished one hour than usual because of holiday, so we went to Sandringham with Magnus and Freya.
There they bought smoothies. (Take a look at their school winter uniforms).
And we went to a gorgeous Tea House Café where we bought scones to share and mint slices.
Then we went to the library before we walked back home.
When Sam came home we packed our things and drove to a friend to the family (Kate, and her children Liam and Greta. Her husband Dean is currently in England with Garreth and another friend). We ate tacos and then we slept there.

Saturday
27.06.2015

Today we had a sleep in to 8.40 and when we woke up we ate toast and went to watch Liam play "Aussie Kick".
Liam is the nice boy in the middle with blue socks.
Kate, Freya and Greta went to Greta's dance performance and Sam were at work, so we (Elin, Matilda, Magnus and Liam) walked down the Yarra River with their dog, Oscar, to a bakery.

The animal on the sign is called a Wombat.
Elin and Matilda...and Oscar.
At the bakery we had a Caramel Slice each, Liam had a Choc Chip Muffin and Magnus had a Jam Tart.

Back home again we waited for Kate and the girls to come back and when they did we drove away.
We stopped for lunch at another bakery. There we tried Meat Pie which are common here. They were hot (directly from the oven) but good.
After lunch we drove to a...CHOCOLATE FACTORY!!! There we got free choc chip to try (White, Milk and Dark chocolate).
We watched when they dipped lollies in chocolate.
The place were huge and there where chocolate everywhere. Here is a chocolate kangaroo.
We also tried the homemade ice cream there.
View of the Yarra Valley where the Chocolate factory is (The Yarra Valley is more famous for the wine).
On the way back to Kate's house we saw some kangaroos (for Matilda for the first time). It was very cool to see them in the wild. (You can compare it to watching moose's in Sweden).
Dinner tonight was homemade pizza.
So good! (Take a look at the "Pumpkin Pizza")

Melbourne with Matthew

Thursday
25.06.2015

Today we had a "sleep in" because a boy called Matthew should take us to some famous places in Melbourne. We woke up 9.15 and Sam took the kids to school. At 11 o'clock we went to meet Matthew. We were a little bit nervous but he was very nice and easy to get to know. So the three of us caught a train to South Yarra and walked to Chapel Street.

We saw the TV-channel TEN office on our way to Chapel St.
On Chapel Street you can find an old building that was a jam factory in the old days. Now it is a mall instead.
We bought smoothies in a shop in there called "Boost". We chose passionfruit and mango flavour. They were really good!
Then we took a tram to Flinders St. and walked down to the Yarra river. Matthew goes to a private boy school in Melbourne that have come up with many good sportsmen. Down the Yarra river has the school a house where they host boats fore rowing. This is the house.
Then we walked across to the other side of the river and we got this beautiful view of the city.
Like we said, Melbourne is a city of art.
Matthew also showed us a famous lane called Hosier Lane. It is famous for  the graffiti.
He told us that it is very interesting to watch the graffiti because it changes all the time.
This is graffiti art of an aboriginal boy. Awesome!

Then Matthew took us to a very good burger restaurant and we tried the burger of the house which was fantastic!
Like all other big cities, Melbourne also has a China Town.
Last stop of the day was at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground).
We could not get inside, but here is a small view of the ground and the seats. It is huge!

Then we caught the train home. We had a very good time today and it was very nice of Matthew to taking a day off from his holiday to show us around.

When we came home we ate dinner and headed for todays "Busy Thursday".
