Melbourne with Matthew

Thursday
25.06.2015

Today we had a "sleep in" because a boy called Matthew should take us to some famous places in Melbourne. We woke up 9.15 and Sam took the kids to school. At 11 o'clock we went to meet Matthew. We were a little bit nervous but he was very nice and easy to get to know. So the three of us caught a train to South Yarra and walked to Chapel Street.

We saw the TV-channel TEN office on our way to Chapel St.
On Chapel Street you can find an old building that was a jam factory in the old days. Now it is a mall instead.
We bought smoothies in a shop in there called "Boost". We chose passionfruit and mango flavour. They were really good!
Then we took a tram to Flinders St. and walked down to the Yarra river. Matthew goes to a private boy school in Melbourne that have come up with many good sportsmen. Down the Yarra river has the school a house where they host boats fore rowing. This is the house.
Then we walked across to the other side of the river and we got this beautiful view of the city.
Like we said, Melbourne is a city of art.
Matthew also showed us a famous lane called Hosier Lane. It is famous for  the graffiti.
He told us that it is very interesting to watch the graffiti because it changes all the time.
This is graffiti art of an aboriginal boy. Awesome!

Then Matthew took us to a very good burger restaurant and we tried the burger of the house which was fantastic!
Like all other big cities, Melbourne also has a China Town.
Last stop of the day was at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground).
We could not get inside, but here is a small view of the ground and the seats. It is huge!

Then we caught the train home. We had a very good time today and it was very nice of Matthew to taking a day off from his holiday to show us around.

When we came home we ate dinner and headed for todays "Busy Thursday".
