Port Phillip Bay

Saturday
20.06.2015

Today we slept in in the morning. Sam went out with some parents from school yesterday, and it sounded like she had very fun there.
We ate breakfast at 10.30 and then we went for a driving trip with the car around the Port Phillip Bay. First we drove south to Sorrento (it took about 2 hours). There we stopped and did some sightseeing. We went inside some shops and took some nice pictures.
One of the beautiful pictures :-D
And another of our nice fabulous pictures :-P
We also bought some Vanilla Slices, which are typical for Australia so that we could try them. Sam also chose Vanilla Slice but Freya and Magnus chose cupcake and Magnus also bought a cup of jelly. But we saved them for later because it was...
...lunchtime. This is the restaurant where we ate lunch.
We ate "Bacon and Egg Roll".
And to drink we had "(Old style) Spiders". Matilda's is the green one (lime) and Elin's is the red one (raspberry). (Calm down, they are not poisoned!). They were nice.
Magnus and Sam ate "Creamy Pumpkin Soup" and like the Vanilla Slices is pumpkin common to eat here.
Haha! Tight Arse means that you are "snål" but if you look it up on Google Translate you get "snäva röv". It means that this small car is cheaper on Tuesdays. ;-D
Cute!!
Not as cute?? YES! We are actually famous here now. You know, the parents that Sam met yesterday asked when Sam talked about us "Oh, are those the pretty girls in white jackets?".
Trying to get the best angle. Gasses?
After we had been in Sorrento for some time, we took the very expensive (ca 700 Swedish Kronor for getting us five over with the car, 45 minutes) ferry to the other side of the Bay.

Sam, Magnus, Freya and Elin on top of the ferry. In the plastic bag we had the Vanilla Slices and Cup cakes and we ate them on the ferry for dessert. They were nice, but we liked the Caramel slices that we tried out the other day on Thomas Street better.
Freya is standing at the stern of the ferry.
Elin and Magnus played with their shadows (we know, Elin could be a great dancer).
After we had arrived to the other side of the Bay to Queenscliff we drove to Queenscliff South Pier and looked at the passage into the Bay. You need to be a specialist to drive the big ships in and out of the Bay, because the waves are crossing each other so there has been many ships going under there.

We stopped at one more beach, Barwon Heads (see the picture below) and then we drove home through Geelong and Melbourne. It gets dark around 5.30 PM and it is black already at 6 o'clock.

Today was a very funny day and the Bay is so much bigger than you first think.
