The trip to Australia: Falls Creek

In the morning we had a sleep in and then we ate a nice breakfast. Sam took Magnus and Freya to school and went for exercise (we could not exercise because Elin had a sore throat and Matilda had a sore foot). After breakfast we took a shower and packed our things for the snow and when Sam came home we packed the car.

For lunch Sam was going out with two friends to Brighton and we walked down to Hampton Street. We walked all the way up for the first time and went to a café that Sam had told us was good called "The Spare Room".

We ate Eggs Benedict and drank hot chocolate there and the staff was very funny.

When we came home we entertained ourselves by practising hairstyles and when Sam came home from lunch she went to pick Magnus and Freya up from school. They came home and changed clothes and then we drove to Melbourne and picked up Gareth from his work (it is right next to the Vegemite factory). Then we were all on our way to Falls Creek were we were going to go skiing. The Browns use to go to Mt Hotham, but there is more snow in Falls Creek this time a year. On the way up we ate dinner at McDonalds. When we arrived to Falls Creek Country Club (the place were we would stay) we had been driving for about 5.5 hours. Then we went to bed.

Friday

We woke up 7 o'clock and all of us ate scramble eggs for breakfast because the supermarket had been closed on the way up and it was still closed in the morning.

Then we went and hired skis, poles,boots and helmets to everybody.

After that, Freya went to ski school and Magnus joined us to ski without Sam and Gareth for a while. Then we met up with and went to Ruined Castle. We (Matilda and Elin) went ahead but the wrong turn and had to take the chairlift up again. We met the others in a small hut and had a hot chocolate to worm up with because the weather was horrible. It was raining, windy and foggy.

When we went home for lunch we walked through the village.

For lunch we had toast and a snack. After lunch we did not wont to go out again so together with Magnus we went to the indoor spa and pool. We warmed up in the bubble pool and had a shower. It was very nice!

Then we played Cluedo with Magnus two times while Sam and Gareth picked up Freya from ski school.

For dinner we had our meatballs with mashed potatoes and everyone enjoyed it!

After that we watched the Smurfs 2 and had dessert.

Saturday

25.07.2015

We woke up 7.45 AM and ate breakfast. Then we got ready for the last ski-day. The weather was better, it was still windy, but not as foggy and not wet like the day before.

Around 11 AM we went inside to warm up.

Elin and Magnus had a hot chocolate. We watched the strange weather outside: first the fog was "Thick as peasoup" and suddenly it was clear and then back again and so it went on.

Here we are standing in the snow with Gumtrees in the background. That is something you can only do in Australia. The snow was beautiful and we went skiing in the black runs. They were just like black "Kuleløype". That was fun!

After lunch (toast) we went out and picked up Freya from skischool and she took us down "Wombat's Rumble". She showed us what she had learned in skischool these two days.

When we came home we warmed up in the sauna and for dinner we had lasagne.

For dessert we tried to sip TimTams through our hot chocolates. It was delicious!!! The movie of the night was Spiderman.

Today we woke up at 8 o'clock and got up to pack our stuff.

Then we had a lovely pancake-breakfast with strawberries, bananas and maple syrup.

We packed the car and had a look in a shop. After that we had a hot chocolate at a café and then we walked through the village to the car and drove home.
